Day15 17 Day Diet

Greg and I decided to give The 17 Day Diet a try just a few days after he lost his job. We are both approaching 50 and need to begin the next decade in the best shape possible. I have been using Jenny Craig since last May and lost 12 pounds. I am definitely less than happy with the progress, though I only have myself to thank/blame. No diet is better than the person using it.
Here's the problem. We knew this Easter weekend was going to be a struggle to stay with the 17 day program, so we decided we stay as careful as possible, but not be too hard on ourselves. We also decided to continue with Stage 1 until next Sunday. This would give us both an opportunity to really get "with the program" and still be able to enjoy the weekend.
Today, I woke with resolve to stay on plan and have a perfect food day! There was more Easter treats at school than anyone should have to face. Chocolate, cake, cookies, etc.! "That's ok," I thought. "I can do this." I did great until lunch time! I had a brownie, and then a small cookie! I knew I shouldn't but I just couldn't stop - at the time I was putting the food into my mouth I felt guiltless and just a few seconds later I felt terrible. "NO more," I said! "I will just stay out of the lounge and the office for the rest of the day!" Again, I managed fairly well and then I ate a small $100,000 bar! I even went back for more - thankfully they were gone. My resolve is slowly slipping away as I continue to slide down the slippery slope! Two more small Snickers and then a piece of homemade Snickers and some Townhouse crackers when I got home! What the heck!!!!!
Well, rather than give up on the day all together, I decided I better take my feelings to the treadmill! I hopped on and did the Couch to 5K week 4 running program 2 times! This is the first time I completed the whole thing twice! Bad food day - good exercise day!
Here are the vitals for today:
149 pounds this morning
I ran for 59.03 minutes for 3.78 miles. Burning 484 calories
I ate:
Greek Yogurt with Truvia and sugar free strawberry jam
1 cup of grapes
Taco Salad (no shell) made with ground turkey, lettuce, tomato and 1 T light cheddar cheese, topped with Salsa
Naval Orange
Tuscan Chicken and a vegetable
Plus all the JUNK posted above.
I can choose to make tomorrow a better day.
